Could Congress stop Trump from bombing North Korea?

Image
(CNN) President Donald Trump threatened North Korea with "fire and fury" Tuesday if Pyongyang doesn't stop threatening the United States. But can the President launch a military strike on his own? The Constitution may give Congress the ability to declare war, but in reality it has little ability to stop the President if he's determined to strike North Korea. That's because the President has his own authority as commander in chief to defend the country from threats, and in practice the Executive Branch has used that authority for a range of military actions. Trump's 'fire and fury' remark was improvised but familiar Congress could pass a law prohibiting the use of force or blocking funding for military action in North Korea. But short of an outright ban, the Trump administration would have authority to act for at least 60 days as it if determines the US is under threat, according to national security and legal analysts. CNN ROASTED AFTER CALLING LEFTIST G20 RIOTERS A PEACEFUL “INTERNATIONAL MIX OF DEMONSTRATORS”

The Crap News Network has come under fire yet again – this time for its mischaracterization of the largely violent anti-capitalist protests in Hamburg. Germany during the G20 summit.  As reported previously, the riots became so intense that attendees of the summit – including Melania Trump, Australian Prime Minister Malcolm Turnbull and Indonesian President Joko Widodo – were temporarily unable to leave their hotel rooms. Video from the riots show cars set ablaze… That’s apparently all of little consequence to CNN, which chose to make the violence a mere footnote in its article on the protests. “An eclectic and international mix of demonstrators peacefully tramped through the streets of Hamburg on Saturday, a show of anti-capitalist muscle in earshot of the world’s top leaders who were finishing up at the G20 summit,” the outlet’s piece states. It continues, “a festive and communal feel pervaded the crowds, with people holding climate change signs and feminism posters and groovi

Does the Sound of Noisy Eating Drive You Mad? Here's Why

If you've ever been tempted to confront someone slurping their soup in a restaurant, or if a person breathing loudly next to you in the movie theater is enough to make your blood boil, then you're not alone: You're one of many people suffering from a genuine brain abnormality called misophonia. Misophonia, a disorder which means sufferers have a hatred of sounds such as eating, chewing, loud breathing or even repeated pen-clicking, was first named as a condition in 2001. Over the years, scientists have been skeptical about whether or not it constitutes a genuine medical ailment, but now new research led by a team at the U.K.'s Newcastle University has proven that those with misophonia have a difference in their brain's frontal lobe to non-sufferers.In an report published in the journal Current Biology, scientists said scans of misophobia sufferers found changes in brain activity when a 'trigger' sound was heard. Brain imaging revealed that people with the co

Scientists may have found a way to stop cancer from metastasizing

New research may have found a way to stop cancer cells (shown here) from creeping to other locations.Metastasis is the main cause of death in cancer, and current treatments against itare ineffective. But new research may have found a way to slow down, and perhaps even halt, the spread of cancer cells.Metastasisis the process by whichcancerspreads throughout the body.During this process, cancer cells may either invade nearby healthy tissue, penetrate the walls of lymph nodes, or enter the surrounding blood vessels.Butnew researchmay have found a way to control metastasis by inhibiting the migration of cancer cells. Stopping the cells from migrating is key in stopping metastasis. What enables cancer cells to migrateis a set of protrusions that help themto move. The team of researchers - led by Mostafa El-Sayed, Julius Brown Chair and Regents Professor of Chemistry and Biochemistry at Georgia Tech's School in Atlanta, GA - managed to successfully cut off these protrusions using a spe
